- Whitelisted Contacts: If you choose to whitelist contacts, we access only the contact identifiers necessary to allow notifications from those contacts during focus sessions. This data is stored locally on your device.
- Whitelisted Apps: Your selection of apps permitted to send notifications during focus sessions.
Automatically Collected Information
- Usage Statistics: Focus session duration, completion rates, Pomodoro counts, and streak data. This information is stored locally on your device and is used solely to display your personal statistics.
- Device Information: Basic device information necessary for app functionality and crash reporting.
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide and maintain the app's core functionality
- Save your preferences and settings
- Display your personal focus statistics
- Filter notifications during focus sessions based on your whitelist
- Improve app performance and fix bugs
Data Storage and Security
Local Storage: The vast majority of your data, including session history, statistics, settings, and whitelists, is stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage mechanisms. This data is not transmitted to our servers.
No Account Required: ZenWall does not require you to create an account. Your data stays on your device.
iCloud Sync: If enabled, your settings and statistics may be synced via iCloud to your other devices. This is handled by Apple's secure iCloud infrastructure and is subject to Apple's privacy policy.
Third-Party Services
ZenWall may use the following third-party services:
- Apple's Screen Time API: To provide screen blocking functionality
- Apple's Focus Mode API: To integrate with system-level focus modes
- Crash Reporting: Anonymous crash reports to help us improve app stability
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
iOS Permissions
ZenWall requires certain permissions to function:
- Screen Time / Family Controls: Required to block screen access during focus sessions
- Notifications: To alert you when sessions end and during breaks
- Contacts (Optional): Only if you choose to whitelist specific contacts
- Focus Mode (Optional): To integrate with iOS Focus settings
Children's Privacy
ZenWall is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content.
Data Retention
Your data is retained locally on your device for as long as you use the app. Uninstalling ZenWall will remove all locally stored data. If iCloud sync is enabled, you can manage synced data through your iCloud settings.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data (viewable within the app's statistics section)
- Delete your data (by uninstalling the app or clearing app data)
- Opt out of iCloud sync (via iOS Settings)
- Revoke any granted permissions (via iOS Settings)
